Therapeutic Creative Arts.

tuition and learning services

These sessions are designed for young people, aged 11-18 year olds, who want to try out new art styles, want to create art as a therapeutic release, increase confidence, and socially interact with others who enjoy art.

The small group sessions aim to be fully-inclusive and any neurodivergent considerations can be discussed before the sessions to ensure any sensory needs etc are met.

These sessions are designed to help support and encourage emotional literacy and wellness through exploring the arts and individual artistic expression by using the Jungian approach to art, which sees the process of making and creating art a therapeutic process.

Participants will have the opportunity to work towards an accredited Arts Award qualification whilst being able to explore their own individual creativity by using a variety of different mediums and new art methods. As well as being art focused the workshops aim is to increase confidence through encouragement of self-expression by being freely creative in communicating through art. Students will be supported in exploring how being creative can help support their own emotional wellbeing and encourage communication through expressive arts.

Each session will start with a mindful art activity and then we will move onto the Art project. The sessions will end with reflection time.

Each young person will help create a termly plan based on what art or craft they want to explore such as felt, clay, mod roc, paint, pen work. The themes will be set out as a question for students to openly interpret how they want. We want each individual to enjoy what they are creating and feel empowered by being an artist.
