Home Ed Programmes

Sowing Seeds offers differentiated and engaging sessions for Home Ed programmes delivered by highly qualified and experienced specialist teachers of literacy, English and Maths.

Our tutors also follow the National Curriculum and provide tailored support for your child to develop their knowledge, confidence and understanding in all areas of these subjects.

Our tuition programme is specially designed to cater to the specific needs of your child and group. Our qualified teachers are subject experts with in-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum, which informs their delivery and helps when sharing their learning and progress with yourselves, to the Local Authority and/or school.

In our English sessions, children build language skills, develop critical thinking abilities, and enhance their overall confidence in English.

During the tuition sessions, our qualified teachers engage students in interactive discussions, comprehensive reading exercises, and structured writing tasks, fostering a deeper understanding of various literary techniques, genres, and writing styles.

Our English sessions covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

1. Reading comprehension and analysis of fiction and non-fiction texts

2. Writing skills, including creative writing, descriptive writing, and persuasive writing

3. Grammar and punctuation, with emphasis on accuracy and fluency in written and spoken English

4. Literary techniques, such as character analysis, plot development, and thematic exploration

5. Vocabulary expansion and contextual understanding

6. Critical thinking skills, including interpretation and inference

We also integrate a variety of teaching methodologies and techniques to make the learning process engaging and enjoyable for your child!

We believe in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, express their opinions, and develop their own creativity. We strive to instil a love for the English in each child, nurturing their passion for literature and honing their communication skills.

Our Maths tutors have designed a programme using active learning strategies and games to improve muscle memory and enjoyment whilst applying their new learning of the place value and number system.

As your child prepares for different key stages, we spend time ensuring they will be ready to build connections between division and multiplication with percentages, decimals, ratios and fractions.

Our experienced and qualified teachers work closely with each student to identify areas where they require additional assistance and support.

We use a range of engaging resources and activities, including Lego therapy, games and puzzles, to make the learning process fun and interactive. Our tutors also provide feedback to the child and the parents on their ongoing progress, celebrating the progress they make in each session and giving tips on how to continue to improve at home.
