42 days of activities to keep your child engaged this summer

To skip the summer dip, join us and see how many of the 42 Days of Summer holiday activities your child can do both indoors and outdoors:

Indoor Activities

  1. Reading Challenge: Set a goal to read a certain number of books over the holidays.
  2. Science Experiments: Conduct simple experiments like making a volcano with baking soda and vinegar.
  3. Cooking/Baking: Learn to cook or bake new recipes.
    Crafts: Make art projects with various materials like paper, paint, and clay.
  4. Puzzles: Work on jigsaw puzzles or brainteasers.
  5. Board Games: Play board games that enhance strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  6. Writing: Write stories, and poems, or keep a journal (join us for our creative writing!)
  7. Music: Learn to play a musical instrument or write a song (join us for our music mash up sessions!)
  8. Maths Games: Play maths-related games or use apps that make maths fun!
  9. Language Learning: Use apps or online resources to learn a new language.
  10. Virtual Tours: Take virtual tours of museums, zoos, or historical sites.
  11. Gardening: Start a small indoor herb garden.
  12. Coding: Learn the basics of coding through online courses or apps.
  13. Building Projects: Build structures using LEGO or other building kits.
  14. Drawing Lessons: Follow online drawing tutorials to improve art skills (try our calligraphy with Natalie!)

Outdoor Activities

  1. Nature Walks: Explore local parks and identify 3-5 different plants and animals.
  2. Bike Rides: Learn about the local area on educational bike rides.
  3. Gardening: Plant and maintain a garden, learning about plants and ecosystems.
  4. Bird Watching: Observe and document different bird species.
  5. Geocaching: Participate in a geocaching adventure to learn about coordinates and geography.
  6. Outdoor Sports: Play sports like football, netball or frisbee to learn teamwork and physical coordination.
  7. Stargazing: Learn about constellations and planets by stargazing.
  8. Beachcombing: Find shells and learn about marine life at the beach.
